Help provided by SOLIBAD : Sending of equipment (textiles, shoes, rackets, nets)

The program in detail:

This action is carried out in partnership with the Humanis Congo FOHUCO Foundation (linked to the Association Action Halte à la Propagation du sida et des MST en France) in order to provide sports equipment to the new teams trained by the Foundation.

In 2022, Solibad has partnered with the Humanis Congo FOHUCO Foundation, which aims to train new teams made up of ambulance drivers, first aiders and volunteer firefighters to enable better management of the many accidents occurring on the national roads between Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire.

As the training of these new teams is based on demanding sports practice, the president of the Foundation chose badminton as the sport of choice (being a badminton player himself). With this in mind, Solibad will provide sports equipment to enable ambulance drivers, first aiders and volunteer firefighters to train in badminton.

This partnership has made it possible to set up a textile collection scheme. Until now, it has been difficult to send textiles to people in our various programmes. However, the Humanis Congo FOHUCO Foundation has enabled us to reopen these donations in 2022, as it is responsible for transporting the materials, with the option of collecting them from collection points.

In addition, the Humanis Congo FOHUCO Foundation also takes care of the schooling of some children in great precariousness, always with the practice of badminton in this aim (some children even participate in the national championship). Solibad has therefore decided to send them equipment as well.

In 2025, the Solibad programme in Congo-Brazzaville enabled the creation of three new solidarity clubs, the distribution of rackets, shuttlecocks, clothing, etc. to these clubs and to disadvantaged neighbourhoods, to children interested in badminton.

In addition to this, educational support for children, training for trainers and the distribution of rackets and shuttlecocks in a number of orphanages have been developed. Furthermore, open days have been organised and leaflets on the benefits of badminton for children have been created and distributed.

In total, Solibad has distributed more than 700 rackets, 200 pairs of shoes and thousands of feather shuttlecocks.
