Collect equipment

Our action in Solibad takes two forms: "financial" help for our programs, but also "material" help for those of our programs where badminton is essential and where we can send this equipment (it is not always easy to get the equipment collected in places where customs is unscrupulous or corrupt, or where shipping costs are more expensive than buying the equipment locally).

A few years ago, we started an operation called "A second life for your racket" in collaboration with the French Badminton Federation. The goal is not only to collect rackets, but also to send them to our badminton programs and to FFBaD partner federations in developing countries.

But we can't collect everything. That's why we have made a list of the most important materials we collect:

What equipment can I donate?

Badminton racket

We're taking all the rackets now!
Good rackets are sent on our programs (especially integrated T).
Good unstrung rackets will also be accepted.
Broken rackets (carbon only) will be collected for our new partner RELIX, who will make bracelets and necklaces from them.

Indoor shoes (badminton, handball, etc.)

Again, no excessive wear, no holes,
and ideally sizes between 33 and 42, but we also accept other
other sizes

Plastic shuttlecocks

Your old shuttlecocks that are a little damaged or that you've traded in for feathers will delight youngsters who play outdoors and are happy to have slightly heavier projectiles.

Nets

Nets are also welcome, even if they're a little damaged.

Textile

Badminton specific clothing, technical and in very good condition - small and large sizes.

Shuttlecocks and rackets are not collected by Solibad (they are collected by Compoplume, see below).

How to collect?

Follow this step-by-step guide:

1. Get the word out to your target audience (flyers, emails, information on your brochures, etc.).
2. Download and print THIS POSTER on a cardboard box and display it in your gym.

3. Collect during your event. If some donors wish, they can write their name and club on a small label that goes with their donation. This will help you connect with the recipients!

4. If possible (this is ideal as it saves us a lot of time), send us a list of the items sent (number of rackets, nets, shuttlecocks, number and size of shoes - no need to count clothes) and put it in the box before carefully closing it. Alternatively, you can enter the number of items collected in the form below.

5. It's very important to fill out this solidarity action form (this is the only way we can keep track of your actions and know what's happening).

6. To send us this material, you can mail or drop it off at
SOLIBAD, 10 bis rue Favier, 94360 Bry-sur-marne, France
A telephone number, if necessary: 06 60 68 25 04

Or bring it to the following competitions, where we usually have stands
French Youth Championships
French Veterans Championships
French Elite Championships
French Internationals

Where will this badminton equipment go?

For now, we are sending this material primarily to three of our programs: in Indonesia, for the "Bintang Kidul Solibad" project, where hundreds of children are waiting for equipment to join group classes taught by local coaches. In Haiti, for the fabulous project to integrate disadvantaged youth in the village of Boudette through sports. As program coordinator Zacharie (pictured below) recently told us, the equipment used by the youth is an incredible tool: he reminds us that all these young people who regularly play badminton and read in the library adjacent to the badminton court have escaped the clutches of local gangs.

Since 2022, this equipment has also been sent to Congo-Brazza thanks to our partnership with Dr. Joe Borel's Humanis Congo Foundation FOHUCO, which trains teams of first responders, ambulance drivers and volunteer firefighters in badminton-based sports. Over the past two years, Solibad clubs have been established locally and badminton has become a fashionable sport, giving underprivileged rural youth access to sports.

As our action is carried out in partnership with the French Badminton Federation, certain materials will be sent to badminton development programs run by national federations that have signed agreements with the FFBaD.
