Our adventurers

The people we're introducing below all have one thing in common: they're part of the badminton family in general, and of Solibad in particular. Through their generosity and solidarity with the Association. Through their challenges, adventures and original lifestyles, they've made Solibad known in France and around the world, and contributed in their own way to the development of our local projects.

Maxime

Our Bernard Hinault

Maxime François is a young man from Picardy who was the first to join the Solibad adventure with a rather crazy idea - to carry out the Tour de France of badminton clubs in the summer of 2013. It's “the other Tour de France”. More than 3,000 km spent alone on his bike, defying the wind, mountain passes, rain, or heat, to carry our message and get the “Solibad Charter” signed by the clubs, all of which mobilized in an extraordinary way to welcome our ambassador.

22 clubs signed our charter following Maxime's visit, and many donations were generated by his presence and his incredible physical prowess - a badminton player in the French top 50, Maxime had previously only cycled as a hobby. Our friend Joran Love joined him the following year for 24 hours of cycling for Solibad, an incredible duo performance in which Maxime and Joran took turns night and day to promote our actions on their training bike, based in Boulogne Billancourt.

Clem'

"Coeur lanta"

Clementine Julien is well known to Koh Lanta fans - she was a finalist a few years ago. An incredible little woman with a strong character, she also has a very big heart and chose to support Solibad during a round-the-world journey she made with three acolytes in 2018. Not only did she carry our colors to the most incongruous places, but she also paid a memorable visit to our Indonesian program, with strong friendships forged.

Fred

"Aventurier à trotinette"

Frédéric Benoist is an extraordinary adventurer, who has criss-crossed the world on his competition scooter. A former member of the Bry club - where Solibad was born - he naturally offered to wear our colors during one of his journeys - a crossing of the United States in 2016. This adventure, which proved too dangerous with crazy trucks endangering his life, had to be abandoned after a few weeks, but there's no doubt that Frédéric will return with the rainbow colors on his back to promote our action.

Geraldine

The committed cyclist

Geraldine Lam is an incredible Australian, an accomplished cyclist who is involved in a number of charitable causes, most notably in Laos, where she has been volunteering for several years in a shelter for young women who have been victims of violence and human trafficking. It was only natural that she asked us to join her in helping this shelter in Vientiane, which has become one of Solibad's recurring programs. In 2017, Geraldine wanted to highlight this action by cycling across Asia, from Singapore to Istanbul. an incredible adventure.

Luc Bayetto.jpg

Luc

"Hakuna Matata"

Luc Bayetto is one of those modern adventurers who embarks on extravagant adventures. In 2017, he plans to drive around the world with his tent and kayak on the roof. As a Badiste in Savoie, it's only natural that he should ask Solibad to carry our colors on his journey. Unfortunately, his journey came to an end just a few weeks after his departure, following major difficulties in Russia. But we're grateful to him for asking us to be part of his adventure, and we know he'll be back on the road again very soon.
